With this course, you'll learn how to use your voice, from the basics, like tuning, to more advanced techniques like vibrato, melismas, and different vocal projections. If you already know how to play an instrument that accompanies your voice but can't yet sing and play at the same time, I'll teach you how to blend the two. This course, depending on your skill level, will help you improve to the point where you can use your voice with ease.

Our lessons are available at two locations in Crouch End (N8) and Thursdays in Crouch End and Mayfair (W1K). Sophie trained classically at the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music and has performed as a soloist with various opera companies. Alongside teaching privately, Sophie is a Singing Tutor of Musical Theatre at Italia Conti, one of the UK's oldest and leading drama schools. Sophie is a Vocal Rehabilitation Coach and works with the Voice Clinic team at Lewisham and Greenwich Hospital. There, she supports a world-class team of clinicians, helping injured singers and those experiencing voice difficulties to restore their vocal function and return to performance. Sophie is also a Course Leader for the Association of Teachers of Singing ‘Essentials’ Teacher Training Course, where she mentors and trains the next generation of singing teachers. She has prepared many students for ABRSM, GCSE and A-Level exams, auditions, competitions, as well as several students accepted on to various prestigious places, including the Royal Academy of Music and the BRIT school. Sophie continues to receive mentoring from Linda Hutchison (Guildhall School of Music & Drama), Elena Hope (Leeds Conservatoire) and Wilma MacDougall (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). Since I was eight years old, singing has been and still is my favourite thing to do. I have been trained formally as a vocalist since the age of 10 studying music in the styles of classical, contemporary and jazz. In each on line hour, through a follow of vocal, drama and art craft games, your kid will learn the basic both of singing and, at the same time, of Italian language, through a range of simple and catchy songs, easy to learn and remember. We will warm up with body and breath games, taken from Yoga, Commedia dell'Arte, Bollywood Dance; we will memorise the lyrics using mime and live interactive drawing; we will learn the melodies with the help of my guitar and my keyboard. I trained in classical and opera singing at The Royal Northern College of Music, and for the past 7 years have had a career in operetta and musical theatre. Including lead roles in The Mikado, Pilates of Penzance, Iolanthe and HMS Pinafore with the International Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, The Merry Widow, Babes in Arms, Out Of Of This World, Free As Air, Cinderella and Peter Pan to name a few. Alongside my career I’ve taught singing and acting with RNCM Youth Perform, Enfield Music Service, Bolton Music Service, Artis, Stage Coach and privately at many schools, colleges, and performing schools across the country. Helping students achieve their personal goals as well as desired results in ABRSM, Trinity, LAMDA, GCSE and A Level exams. I specialise in developing vocal and performance technique especially in the genres of musical theatre and classical singing but love teaching all music genres. You choose the songs, artists, or styles you love, and we'll work together so you can learn to play and accompany them on the guitar. You'll learn chords, chord changes, rhythms, strumming patterns, and different accompaniment techniques, always applied to real songs. The goal isn't simply to memorize songs, but to gradually understand how they work so you can learn new songs on your own. The classes are adapted to all levels. If you're starting from scratch, we'll go step by step so you can begin playing your first songs from the beginning. If you already have some guitar experience, we'll work on improving your rhythm, technique, and accompaniment skills.
