Hello, my name is Arina and I am a native Russian speaker. I've been teaching Russian since 2011. Teaching my native language is not only my passion, but also a constant subject of my curiosity. I explore Russian every day with my students, we help each other understand its history, origins and cultural peculiarities. My other passion is Fine Arts and it blends together with languages very well! I like incorporating creative techniques into my teaching methodology; it makes the lessons fun and information easy to understand and memorise. I have flexible working hours but prefer a responsible learner who can arrange lessons in advance. It is preferable to meet for a lesson every week, as it helps to make a steady progress. Our main goal is to achieve strong and long-lasting results in a minimal period of time. The structure of my lesson is well balanced. I include grammar and pronunciation techniques, also tips for better and quicker memorisation. I gather information for lessons from different sources, which makes my class interactive, vibrant and effective. I use audio-visual aids and have an extensive database of audios, videos, movies and presentations to help you succeed. I've travelled to Australia, US, China, Indonesia, Europe and New Zealand and have a good understanding of different cultures. It enables me to explain the Russian culture and immerse you into our traditions. It helps to learn the language when you are familiar with the particularities of a Russian way of thinking.

I have a real passion for music and that's why I would love to help inspire and guide new musicians on their quest to learn the violin. Age is irrelevant when it comes to my lessons but the most important thing is that the student comes with a real incentive to learn. Everyone's musical journey is different and many people decide to learn an instrument for a different reason. Therefore, the regular structure for a lesson would very much differ from person to person. For example, beginners would mostly focus on sight-reading, proper form and technique. However, someone with a slight musical background could begin by learning pieces that they want to play and I would guide them with how to encompass the piece better and make slight adjustments to their technique along the way. When it comes to young children, I've worked in nursery and primary schools with ages from 3-7. The most important thing is that they have fun during the lessons and gain a real respect for music early on. Technique, theory and sight-reading are still incredibly important but what's most important is that the child is having an enjoyable time while learning. I have a strong musical background as I've been playing violin and piano for 14 years, I also have a great understanding of music theory. I've performed in multiple concerts of sizes of up to 5000 attendees. I was also established enough to have achieved a full music scholarship to a performing arts secondary school and college. At GCSE I achieved an A* in music and I would be more than happy to help GCSE music students with their music theory and/or composition piece.

Hello, my name is Beibei, I have 10 years experience of performing as concert percussionist working with orchestras, schools, universities and curating my own project as well as extensive teaching experience, from large group workshops to 1:1 tuition. My aim is to make sure each of my pupils are well versed in all musical genres from classical to contemporary. We will have a focus on a certain style and work by playing along to bands and recordings to help improve the listening side of music. We will also work on technical exercises to ensure the growth as a great musician. I can also offer examinations, working towards graded exams can be useful for many people to get an understanding of progress and achievement when moving up to the next level. Lessons will be fun and there will be lots of chance for creativity and improvisation if desired. My approach to teaching drums, percussion and piano is focused on developing a strong understanding of rhythm, phrase, scales in general and applying it on playing. I will customise my teaching approach to your needs, depending on the level of your playing and your musical desires. I'll give my best in each lesson to guide you step-by-step into becoming a better musician/drummer. You can learn about: - Groove - Technique - Drum sounds and percussion for different genres/applications - Controlling dynamics between different limbs - Reading complex musical notations - Composing and improvisation - Piano and music theory - Body percussion And much more... Starting from beginner, up to experienced drummers.
