I live in Hemel Hempstead and up until Xmas I was Head of maths at The Valley School in Stevenage, and I am a maths tutor specializing in special needs, but I do tutor mainstream students too. My name is Helen. I have a BSc Honours degree from the University of Herts, a PGCE from Bath Spa University and 68 Masters degree credits in “Autism in children “ from the University of Birmingham. I also have had QTS for 12 years. I have 7 and a half years experience of working with students with Autism and speech and language difficulties in MLD schools. My clients say “ I have never seen my son sit for an hour doing maths before, you are a miracle worker,” another says “So great to meet you today my daughter is so happy with what she’s achieved already I can’t thank you enough” “We had parents evening today. S........ report for maths was glowing. The teacher said she’d rarely seen such a rapid change in ability and confidence. Thank you!” Please let me know if I can help. Helen
I am a third year Pharmacy student at the University of Hertfordshire. I have tutored two children privately who have passed tests to multiple grammar schools and currently study at Henrietta Barnett and QE Boys. I was also the 11+ lead at Explore Learning Hanger Lane. Here, I taught MATHS and ENGLISH to children aged between 5 and 15 years old. My experience as a tutor has allowed me to identify different learning styles that will not only prepare children for their entrance exams but also create good study habits that they can use in later education. As part of my service, I am also able to update parents on what was covered in the session, strengths and weaknesses identified and plan of action at the end of each session. This means that you are not blindly wasting your money but have confidence that your child is in safe hands.

Are you serious about learning to play violin? Do you want to learn how to tackle difficult violin pieces? Do you want to learn how to practise efficiently? Do you want to know how to tackle stage nerves and how to plan your time before a performance? Do you need help with fingerings and bowings for a specific piece? Online violin lessons are becoming more and more popular as they offer real convenience for a student who either wants to learn with a specific teacher who might be based in another country, or when attending lessons in person is problematic because of the student's schedule. Dunja , who has 15 years of overall teaching experience, has successfully taught via Skype and Zoom for the past 7 years. Lessons are scheduled based on the most suitable time (whatever the time zone!) for both Dunja and the student.

During this time I have worked with pupils from many different cultural backgrounds, aged between 4-80, with skills ranging from novice to advance players. I completed my Associateship Teaching Diploma in 2004, from the Royal Conservatory of Music. I have also taught and tutored rudimentary to advanced theory (harmony) for the past 10 years, for ABRSM exams and undergraduate music courses. All my students pass their ABRSM Grade 5 Theory Exam on their first try.

Trusted teacher: I like that my pupils enjoy their French lesson. I use at the beginning of the lesson a routine. Example for children the greetings, date, weather of the day, numbers and important verbs. Then we work on a special topic using Power Point presentation or tutorials on Ipad for learning the French vocabulary. We do some practice with exercise (paper and games on ipad). For the teenagers the lesson is more academics. I insist on the grammar which is really important and the tense of the verbs. I usually work on the topics studied at school unless the student has a special request. I provide with some support as revision cards for tense of the verbs, topics. For the IGCSE preparation I also include some listening, reading and comprehension and oral questions on the subject studied.

I am currently studying French and German at the University of Cambridge, after having done French, German, and English at A-Level. This class will be individual to any student who takes it, if they arrive with questions or topics they are struggling with then I can help them improve those, or if they give me some samples of work they have done I can go through them and identify points to work on together. If students simply want to learn a new language for pleasure, then this is something I am also able to facilitate, as long as they tell me what sort of level they are already at.

Emma - Rome, Italy£21.23
Trusted teacher: - I´m a professional Italian teacher from Italy, now living in Rome. I have 8 years teaching experience. I am very patient and I love to make a relaxed and friendly class environment. I have qualifications and experience teaching at different levels and in different contexts. I can help the student to improve the oral, written, and comprehension skills. Most important is that each course is based on the needs, interests and availability of the student. - The method is mainly what is called communicative, aimed at stimulating the student to speak immediately and put the focus on the functional aspect of the language. For beginners, I usually follow a specific program, I prepare a course and for each lesson I send students the files that I scan from the various books. Also the lessons can be essentially developed as conversations on specific subjects.
