I have experience in teaching mathematics and science from IGCSE, GCSE and A-Level all the way up to the challenging I am very familiar with the GCSE syllabus having gone through the O’Levels and A’Levels in Singapore myself. When teaching mathematics and science, I believe that doing a lot of practice is the best way to learn; it’s how I’ve always studied the subject, from GCSE all the way up to university level. I understand the common issues students have with mathematics and science at every level, and I tailor my teaching to the needs of each individual student. When teaching GCSE and A level, I like to first go over any conceptual issues students may have, before moving on to exercises. Going through examples can often uncover misunderstandings, as well as provide clarity, and hence a balance of both is required. I work with a combination of weak and strong students from many well-known schools in Singapore and also international schools in London. I am keen to provide you with lessons that are highly personalised to your ability and goals – just let me know which areas you'd like to work on! Some students come with an idea of which topics they would like to improve on, in which case we can work on any theory questions they have and go through example problems they may be struggling with. For other students, it may be best to start with the exercises, and use these to spark discussion and teaching when we encounter difficulties. Often, it is a combination of time spent grappling with the content/theory and working through example questions together that helps the most!

Hello. I am a University of Oxford medicine graduate. I will mentor you to perform as well as possible across the board, with a focus on maths and science. Exam results are more important than ever. The truth is that most teachers will teach in a typical way which is not conducive to actually performing as well as possible in exams across the board. The methods are too time consuming, boring and inefficient. I will teach students to perform as well as possible in GCSE exams as quickly and efficiently as possible, regardless of your ability. I will distil the content down into the most concise, simple format and combine this with exam techniques and revision strategies which ACTUALLY WORK to help you achieve similar results in any subject. The skills I will teach come from my own experience of achieving 14A*s at GCSE and 5A*s at A-level, even in subjects I was not good at. The skills I teach can be applied to any subject and will help you to learn faster and more efficiently. Anyone can achieve this regardless of current academic performance. I will mentor you continuously and meet once weekly to discuss new strategies, address concerns and ensure you perform as well as possible with minimum stress.

I am a PGDE qualified teacher with over 3 years experience of working both in a secondary school and as a private tutor. I have worked with students preparing for both 11+ and 13+ exams who have been accepted into their first choice schools. I plan stimulating and engaging lessons which have been deemed ‘outstanding’ by external observers. I enjoy seeing fast and sustained progress in the students I mentor, who feel a sense of accomplishment from their sessions with me because of the positive feedback they receive.

In these classes I provide an extensive and in depth look into the chosen subject of study. Whether it be test prep for 11 plus. Or GCSE. I make sure that my clients have complete satisfaction. I also offer after class consultations with parents to keep them informed with their childs progression.

As a recent first-class Biochemistry graduate working as an intern in Financial Audit and Value for Money (VFM) at the UK National Audit Office, I have experience working in many fields, from medicine to tutoring to auditing. I have had experience as a glider pilot through my Gliding scholarship, I have worked with my genetics lecturer as a laboratory module developer and I have also been an activity leader in an international summer school. I, therefore, hold a spectrum of transferrable skills with a wealth of knowledge in Biochemistry which I can bring to the students. My teaching method starts with an initial assessment and consultation with the students to identify their areas of weakness. We then discuss effective revision methods to see which one is more suited for the individual. I action plan or a revision plan will then be created with the student, which is suited to their daily lives. Following this, we tackle the subject areas using various methods. Making the lessons creative and ensuring the student understands why things happen instead of memorising facts is very important, therefore, explaining certain topics as a story and a flowing process is crucial. To ensure that the student has fully understood the session, the end of each session will consist of a recall period, where the student will have 5-10 minutes to write everything they have learnt and understood in that session. The student will then be advised revision techniques for the topic and we will create a revision plan for the following week to ensure the content is not forgotten. The student will be advised to recall the topic every other day until the next session and a short 5-minute pop-quiz will be set at the start of the next session. It is incredibly important that the student is comfortable and enjoying the sessions therefore, some parts of the session will be more informal and others will be in exam conditions to ensure the student also experiences and learns how to manage their time under pressure.

I provide tutoring sessions for students studying Maths, Biology, and Chemistry at GCSE level.
