My name is Vanessa and I am an actress, teacher and producer currently based in London, United Kingdom. As well as training and performing within the Theatre industry since 2011, I have also taught art disciplines such as acting, singing and dance and dance fitness from the ages of 3 upwards. Some of my performance credits include, Motown The Musical, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Hairspray and Legally Blonde and currently Stranger Things: The First Shadow. For those that have a keen passion for entering into the Theatre industry, I am able to use my experience to offer professional training across all disciplines and help equip them with tools needed to thrive as a performer. Similarly, for those that enjoy the arts as an extra curricular hobby/space to express themselves creatively, I take pride in holding a creative self space to help my students to unlock self confidence, self belief and their broader imagination as well as strengthening skills such as teamwork, singing, dancing and acting. I am able to hold online classes and work to an international timezone to reach all my students and for those based in London and prefer face to face lessons, I'm able to rent studios or arrange home visits where requested. I am an RCA MA Painting graduate, and I have a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art from Westminster University, and a Foundation diploma in Art & Design from the University for the Creative Arts. I am a practicing artist based in London, specializing in painting, and I have been showing my work nationally and internationally. My recent solo show was at Class Reiss London, and I also had a solo presentation at Art Athina. My fascination with tutoring derives from my sensitivity around learning disabilities, something which is a recurring theme in my practice as I grew up as a dyslexic learner, as well as my educational experience of being part of leading academic UK institutions.   Through my work as an art tutor I strive to inspire and support my students, offering insight to my experience as a RCA alumnus and to the professional life of an artist. I will therefore take you through the entire professional process of designing a character for an animated project - from the fundamentals of anatomy drawing, to the initial research stage to iteration sketches, all the way through to the final model sheets! By the end, you will have created a memorable character that is unique, full of appeal, exuding personality, and ready to be animated. And you will have gained a valuable insight into the weird and wonderful world of professional character design. --------------------------------- About me: I am a professional character designer and illustrator from Australia, currently based in London, UK. In 2019, I graduated with the Bachelor of Design in Animation with First Class Honours from the University of Technology, Sydney. Since graduating, I have had the privilege of working as a character designer and animator on the Netflix animated series, ‘Adventure Beast,’ enjoyed a design internship with Cheeky Little Media, and have also had the pleasure of illustrating several children's picture books for Playtime Books.
