Hugo Barrio, a professional drummer and composer, holds a higher degree in Modern Music and Jazz Performance from the Conservatori Superior del Liceu. My training has been complemented by working and learning alongside numerous leading figures in jazz and drumming, and I have professional experience in concerts, recordings, and projects with musicians from the national and international scene. I offer drum lessons tailored to each student, from beginner to advanced levels. We'll work on what you really need: technique, sound, timing, coordination, reading music, improvisation, repertoire, or jazz. I can also help you expand your musical training through modern harmony and composition, with the goal of better understanding music and applying it to your instrument. This will help you speak the same language as the other musicians you share the stage with. My goal is to help you play better, understand the instrument, and develop your own sound and language. The classes are designed around practice and music, aiming to ensure that what we work on has a real-world application when playing. Piano has always been my main instrument, and over the years, I’ve developed a strong background in music, performance, and music education. About seven years ago, I discovered the handpan, and it quickly became another important part of my musical journey. Today, I teach handpan to many students and help them discover their own musical voice through this beautiful instrument. Whether you have a musical background or have never played an instrument before, you can start from zero. My lessons are designed to take you step by step—from learning the basics and playing your first notes to improvising, creating your own music, and expressing your emotions freely through the handpan. With nearly 10 years of experience as a professional drummer and music producer in London, I offer high quality lessons for drum kit and/or electronic music production, including sampling and beat making. Drum Lessons: the student will be guided through a program that will develop music theory , reading skills and technique in equal measure, including advice on how to practice effectively and apply the subjects learned to real life music making. Music Production Lessons: the student will learn how to use free, professional software, such as Apple's Garage Band for macOS or BandLab's Cakewalk for Windows users, to create his/her own tracks, by learning about music synthesis as well as contemporary production and mixing techniques.

Luke is a professional musician and educator specialising in drums & percussion. Much of his work is with professional orchestras such as the CBSO and the Philharmonia. He has also played drum kit for many theatre shows including The Wild Party, Annie Get Your Gun and The King & I. Every student's musical journey is unique and grades aren't for everyone, however many of Luke's students follow the excellent Trinity Rock & Pop syllabus for which he has a 100% pass rate. For the last 20 years I have taught hundreds of drummers both privately and in formal institutions such as BiMM London (formerly Drumtech), ICMP and LMA colleges. I have developed a strong reputation, helping musicians to sound great behind the drums. My priorities as a player are always to be able to make the band sound great. I work on fundamentals that are directly applicable in musical situations. Whether I help someone taking their first steps on the instrument, or professional players who want to fine tune their technique, I have a very similar approach: It starts with a dialogue, understanding the person I work with, a diagnostic then a plan to reach our goals.
