Logic Pro X is the most used DAW right now. It can be challenging for musicians or aspiring music producers to get the hang of it as usually the basics of audio mixing and production are not understood well, and so it gets in the way of songwriting ending up being frustrating! Whether you are using Logic Pro X, or any other DAW I can teach you the basics of recording vocals and other instruments, the essentials about understanding signal chains and how to use compressors equalisers as well as reverbs and delays, how to mix and master. I teach in my home studio in Battersea in Logic Pro X, but if you use any other DAW you are welcome to bring your own laptop so you can learn how to use your own equipment in the most efficient way! Alternatively I can teach via Zoom.

Two keywords form the base of the singing technique I teach: relaxation and engagement. Inspired by the Alexander technique, we need the body to be completely free from any muscle tension before and after producing a sound. Then, to create a sound of quality, the body also needs to be engaged and free. By releasing all the unnecessary tension, you will be able to sing all the arias of your dreams. I will give some weekly exercises in singing and music theory and we will correct them together during the lesson. I was part of the choir of the French public radio broadcaster for 7 years. My name is Julia, I started playing the piano when I was 8 and I am a this year graduate with honours of a Polish 12-year music school with the specialisation in piano, therefore I got a Polish Professional Title- Musician. Throughout the years I took part and won prizes in many piano competitions in Poland and abroad. When I was 14 I started a band with my friends and discovered my great passion for composition; since then we've signed a contract with a label, released an album and played about 300 concerts in Europe and this autumn we also have a tour planned. I grew up surrounded by music and gained the industry experience at a very young age. My mom introduced me to Opera music and folklore, I personally love Scandinavian folk and acoustic. Hello! My name is Kajsa, and I am a 21 year old vocalist and musician from Sweden. I am currently in my third and final year of University at BIMM London, where I study Popular Music Performance Vocals. I have been singing and taking vocal lessons since I was 7 years old. I have been trained both classically and commercially. I prefer the commercial training because it allows the singer to focus more on the emotion when singing instead of posture and vocal techniques. Ofcourse there is a lot of technique that goes into it which we will focus on aswell, but in todays popular music the listener is looking for an emotion and a voice they can relate to. It can’t be too perfect and classical in the commercial scene today, that removes all the rawness and emotion that the listener is looking for, in my oppinion. I want to offer my potential students a safe place where they can belt their heart out or be vulnerable in their headvoice without judgement. I know I lacked this when i was growing up into this industry, and I would love to give the confidence of not caring too much and to teach how to be brave enough to sing with 100% emotion. His album “Flowing” is the result of a prize in the music competition "Giuseppe Tricarico" (May 2016 - Gallipoli, Italy) which he won and which allowed him to produce this record. It was released in December 2018. In September 2018 Silvio had the chance to lead workshops about jazz music in Santo Domingo at Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, National Conservatory of Music and Academia de Música de Patricia Logroño. In June 2019 he was one of the Top Prize winners at the International Online Quebec Music Competition (Montreal, Canada), where he played his own composition called “Latin Jazz Etude – Una Noche en el Barrio”, and in July 2019 he won the First Place at the San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition (Summer Edition). Since December 2018 he has been collaborating as sheet music arranger with a US-based website, the world's leading digital sheet music retailer. Silvio is also a music teacher with many years of experience, whose students range in age from 5 to 60 plus. He encourages music study not only for performance success, but also for personal development. In 2019 he attended music pedadogy courses at the Conservatory of Lecce. I provide piano lesson for beginning, intermediate and advanced students, preparing them for piano exams up to grade 8, including the necessary aural and music theory training. I also teach pre-school children from the age of 3 as well as children with disabilities, adjusting the music program to their needs. When working with young children I focus on developing their musical imagination and curiosity, while also providing them with technical skills and a detailed understanding of the musical score. I aim to provide a firm basis on which they can build a western classical repertoire, or any other musical style they choose. For beginners I work with one of the early piano syllabi, usually Thompson's 'Easiest Piano Course' or Oxford's piano method book 'Piano Time,' which consist of fun songs and simple melodies. Through this the pupil is gradually introduced to various aspects of the melody (such as pitch, duration of notes, phrasing and articulation) and coordination of both hands on the keyboard in a creative and stimulating way. At this stage I place a strong emphasis on proper body posture and hand position. As the pupil acquires fundamental piano skills and gets comfortable reading music I proceed with them through the ABRSM or Trinity piano syllabus to a more advanced repertoire. Throughout a student’s education, I incorporate sight reading, scales exercises and technical work into the lesson structure and daily practice routine of the pupil. I also focus on developing my students’ understanding of how music theory applies to the material they play. Applying Musicological knowledge and own performing experience I teach students in depth analyses of the music they play, guide their individual interpretation and bring their awareness to the specifics of a historically informed performance. My pupils play a broad variety of western classical styles, and I will work with them to balance their program and maximise their enjoyment and appreciation for music. The student will become familiar with the main forms and stylistic traits of baroque, classical, romantic and 20th century Western classical music. I will also make sure the pieces stay challenging technically and if needed I will provide additional materials which will help the student to focus on the areas which need most work on. Though not usually covered in exam syllabi, I am happy to work alongside the student on pieces which do not necessarily fit into the Western classical canon, should they so wish. Playing and learning an instrument should primarily bring joy, and as a result inspire the student’s dedication to practice and foster a willingness to work hard. I believe in the importance of the relationship between teacher and student and as such provide the needed mental support and encouragement. I adopt an intuitive pupil-centred approach to learning that will best support their passion for making music. Attention to detail is paramount, and staying attuned to the needs of the student is always a priority. As such, I will adjust the tempo of the program to meet goals at a pace that is ideal for both the pupil’s ability and well-being.

I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience, and goals. Children (7–12 years old) For younger students, lessons focus on building confidence while making learning fun. We begin with simple vocal warm-ups and ear training to develop pitch and intonation, then move on to singing their favourite songs, encouraging good vocal habits in an enjoyable way. Teenagers (12-17 years old) With teenage students, we start with more structured vocal warm-ups and exercises. As we discover their natural voice, we work on developing a comfortable vocal range, improving technique, and applying these skills through songs that suit their voice and interests. Adults and seniors (18+) For adult students, lessons are usually divided into two parts. We begin with vocal technique, focusing on breathing, diaphragm support, scales, arpeggios, and intonation. We then apply these techniques through singing, helping you develop confidence, control, and healthy vocal habits. I will give you repertoire to study or we will study the pieces you have to prepare. The final goal will be to sing on a musical accompaniment. Every student learns at a different pace. Some may spend more time building a solid technical foundation before moving on to more challenging repertoire, and that’s perfectly fine. My priority is to ensure that every student feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their vocal journey. I teach children, teenagers, and adults and seniors from complete beginners to advanced singers.
