Using jazz music as my specialism, I am able to teach even the most technically challenging concepts in their most basic forms and transfer them to the guitar in their most simple terms. I have taught the guitar, music theory and GCSE and A-Level Music syllabuses for six years to students of all ages and abilities and across every imaginable genre.

Playing the violin not only helps both children and adults to broaden their musical taste, but it also improves brain function, builds physical coordination, and serves as a powerful emotional outlet. This is why I think that everyone should at least at one point or another play the violin, because in my opinion, playing an instrument really improves ones' peace and even just playing for yourself will calm you down and will just make you sit and enjoy the music! I teach everyone starting from the age of 4, from absolute beginners to advanced students, because I believe that music has no age limit and it is never too late to start learning something new!

Has your previous piano learning experience been a bit dull? Are you seeking a fresh approach to piano lessons? In my piano lessons, inspired by the Jacques-Dalcroze method, you'll enjoy a unique musical journey beyond just playing the piano and studying theory. You'll also be singing, improvising on the keyboard, and even moving to the music through dance. Learning piano should never be boring, and it certainly isn’t for me or my students. With me, you’ll discover the countless ways the piano can express music. You’ll explore compositions from various composers, periods, and styles, from the classical works of Mozart, Bach, Debussy, and Chopin, to modern pieces, pop songs, and jazz, including Shostakovich. Through eurhythmics exercises, you'll not only play but also feel the music by moving with it, enhancing your musical knowledge and deepening your emotional connection to sound. If you're unsure about moving with the music, don’t worry—I’ll be there to guide you in finding a way to enjoy and love music. I've played the piano since I was five years old and hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Geneva Music University. More recently, I completed my MA in Interdisciplinary Dance Performance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. While my teaching experience mainly focuses on children aged 5-10, I am also well-versed in providing music training and piano lessons for adults. VIOLIN AND/OR MUSIC THEORY LESSONS When I begin teaching an individual, I make sure that I inspire them and teach them the value and beauty of music. I am very thorough about teaching technique properly so that it will last and be an asset in one's musical future, but I still like to keep my students on their toes and excited about actually making music and adding life to the notes they draw out of their instruments. Each individual is different and has different goals they wish to achieve with their playing, thus, for me it is very important to establish a connection with my students and cater each lesson to their specific needs and learning style. I have had the pleasure of sharing my love of music with musicians of all ages ever since I began teaching the violin in 2014. I teach both young and mature students, focusing my energy on private lessons. I have also had the opportunity to work with groups of young children at summer programs in collaboration with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.

I'm a singer and bassist based in London, ICMP alumni, graduated in Popular Music Performance specialising in Vocals. I had the opportunity to improve my skills as a vocalist through different Vocal Coaches, who inspired me to share the passion to other people with fun, kindness and a good challenge. My vocal classes will include: -Introduction: your interests, goals, struggles or anything else. -Vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises, vocal exercises. -Working on a song together (any song of your choice or I can pick one if you like). -Performance, getting rid of stage fright, and how to convey a song with feelings. I've always taught to my students privately and recently started to teach online. I like to have a free chat with my student (and/or their parents) before the first class to fully understand my student's goals and create the perfect study plan, with songs that will gently push you out of your comfort zone, where everything grows. At The Hap'ning Place we offer Kodaly Music Theory Lessons to all ages. The Kodaly Method is an extremely successful way to learn musicianship; initially with the instrument you are born with (your voice!!) Kodály's concepts are based on teaching, learning and understanding music through the experience of singing, giving direct access to the world of music with the most universal instrument. The Kodály approach to music education is student centered and skills are taught in a logical, sequential manner. These can be individual lessons, as a part of your instrumental training or taken as a separate class. If there are enough students, we will offer a group class and reduce the rate per person. I was teaching at Chicago International Youth Musical Theatre Camp, and also had various conducting experience of leading vocal training in choirs in the UK. In 2017, I won the first prize in the Hong Kong international vocal music competition and the certificate of outstanding choral director in the choir competition of South China Normal University. Hi! I’m Paloma, I’m a film and videogame music composer, pianist and violist. I give classes in music language, music theory, harmony, and composition from classical to film, piano, and viola. My students are any age, any level from beginner to advanced. I will help with exams, GCSE, and A-Levels, as well as help students obtain their grade 5 theory to advance and take higher grades in composition or viola. I started teaching when I was 17 years old. While I was studying viola and composition I would help colleagues learn Harmonic Theory for University exams or just for fun. Whilst studying, in order to support my learning abroad, I started teaching children and teenagers. The classes included a wide variety, from; supporting their studies during the school year, to their first approaches to music as well as nurturing love and excitement for playing and making music. After University I continued giving classes during the last few years. The compositional strand of training if a student wishes to undergo it has many elements we will learn the theory needed to competently make music learn systems that allow us to break down composition as well as multiple genres. work they can do by themselves at their own pace, allowing each student to work and grow at a rate suited to their ability. -Building a strong understanding of melodies and chords and how different instruments work and support each other. -If they are studying in a formal educational establishment, they will receive support and guidance in regard to their work and exams. When I am giving classes in music language, viola, piano... to children, I always try that the classes will be dynamic but at the same time incorporate a little bit of Theory. I utilised exercises that are designed to engage young developmental minds, like those you’d find on a children’s show. For example, singing, playing... songs allows us to train the ears and help them to begin to recognise the different registers, notes, rhythms and tempo. This was done alongside training on their chosen instruments, my aim was and is to nurture a language of music as well as give them practical skills and exercises they can do on their own. I play the piano and viola, so I always try to support them. When it comes to classes for teenagers I teach them theory and practice as well as strong fundamentals but I also allow time to let them lead their learning to give them more agency, allow them to learn their favourite /contemporary songs. This keeps the passion for music alive. With teenagers, my approach centres on elevating and reinforcing what they learn from school using exercises and providing tools to break down ideas musically. In addition, I also prepare for GCSE and A-levels. Lessons will follow a path of progression, teaching them how to approach the next levels of theoretical and practical competence. Allowing the students to understand their Progression and their path forward increases the likelihood they will continue studying. Lessons are flexible, and curated on a student-to-student basis as well as making sure to incorporate what I believe they need to achieve the next level. This involves; practical music training, ear training, building on theoretical knowledge, as well as learning songs they love to ensure they feel fulfilled and have fun with music.
