May 2026: In these neuro-divergent times, the binary division of "one language or two" in bilinguals is perhaps due some contestation, which students are capable of providing. I have always found bilingual production models (and the ubiquitous Powerpoint slide) that university teachers provide a hindrance because of their lack of explicitness and discussion - they are just not relatable as presented nor do they provide much information or examples for monolingual students. Code-switching, a by-product of bilingualism, is now a term that is even found in minority-ethnic neighbourhood grafitti ("can white people code-switch" a found example). Please note that this is a linguistic term, used for switching between two languages, and not between local or social varieties of English. My personal position is that there is no such thing as bilingualism: there is always a language that suffers attrition, and one language that prevails, mostly because of its prestigious standing over the other language. On the other hand, a child exposed to more than one language cannot be truly monolingual. For this course (very popular at universities around Europe both at undergraduate and postgraduate level) we shall go through the terms used to discuss bilingualism, in detail, and then discuss, with the help of published books and articles, who can be considered bilingual (or are we all, one other language lying dormant?). Can bilingualism be defined by the speaker, instead of the "community"? Can it be imposed by the State? Does a bilingual brain function in the same manner as a monolingual brain? These are research questions that emerge as dissertation or thesis topics both at undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Yoga is a powerful instrument that can help us to understand and grow confidence in our bodies and mind. It is fundamental in mental and physical wellbeing, and even just one session a week can make a difference to your life. In this class, you will learn a range of asanas in depth, including their purpose and effects in your body. There will also be an abundance of yogic philosophy and techniques for meditation and pranayama (Breath-work). Each student will delve into their being and explore any blockages or stressed energy, and gradually smooth them out. Yoga is an ideal way to stay fit and healthy, and remove pressures from day to day life. For this Class, I want to create an intimate and comfortable atmosphere for the student; all ages and levels of experience welcome. There will be a sequence of asanas, short teachings of yoga philosophy, and open discussions between teacher and student. Aside from the class, I am always an open ear for anyone in need, and will provide the best support I can. The classes can be tailored to the student's needs and ability. Hi my name is Rich. I offer one 2 one acting sessions in Peckham Rye to help all levels and abilities improve confidence in their performance. I am a British actor and performer with over 20 years of experience working in TV, Film and Theatre. My TV credits include over 200 episodes of playing Dr Caleb Knight on BBC's hit series Casualty 2014-2020. 24 episodes of hit teen soap Hollyoaks playing Father Francis. For film i had lead roles in the box office smash British film STREETDANCE 3D and the Film Festival hit EVE. In 30min or 1 hour sessions we will work through the text(if there is a scene to prep or i can provide interesting material) and discuss ways of applying the best techniques to unlock your performances full potential. Whether it be for a big audition or just a bit of fun i will offer a calm and productive environment for you to find creativity and flourish. I have trained extensively in the Meisner technique as well as a more Method approach at Guildhall Music & Drama School. There really isn't a set technique i teach from, rather a balance of what works for the individual student as we are human and all work in completely different ways. I am here to help you use your instrument and unlock your true instincts to help you shine in your own extraordinary way. Learn to express yourself through textiles, a diverse and mindful craft. I offer classes that explore abstract expression in embroidery, beadwork, embellishments, and patchwork. We look at the history of folk art and craft as a source of inspiration to create personal textile artworks. In the past, students have made stuffed toys, quilts, wall hanging, clothing and samplers. All materials will be provided, including vintage fabrics, trimmings, embellishments, threads and tools.

It is true that the philosopher is the friend of wisdom, but above all, he is someone who does not want to make mistakes in reasoning. Philosophizing is a way of reasoning and a way of solving problems that will never have a perfect and definitive solution. Knowing the distance between the Earth and the Moon is not a problem of philosophy, because it is enough to measure to solve it. On the other hand, knowing, for example, what justice is, is a problem of philosophy. A meter will not be able to help us know the answer. We must go about it differently, and in the courses I offer, I will teach you how. You will learn - text reading strategies - case studies with the aim of learning from experts - methodology in philosophy - writing an essay - writing a text commentary - a work on the philosophers of your choice - an overview of the history of philosophy - the general culture necessary to be able to philosophize I will adapt to your individual needs. Each course is tailor-made. We will analyze where your difficulties lie and together develop a course program that will make you perform as quickly as possible. The basic principle of the courses I offer is dialectics, like Plato's dialogues: reflecting together, making theoretical contributions, asking questions and seeking answers, and testing the validity of reasoning. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching German using the philosophy methodology, having studied philosophy at the Master's level at Aix-Marseille University.
