I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catered to the student's specific needs. – Academic lessons tend to be structured around specific sections of the syllabus, or particular topics that students require help with. – I employ a seminar style format. I flesh out ideas with the aid of quotations, other audio-visual resources, and analytical commentary which my students can use to develop essays, essay plans, revision tools, and exam revision packs. – I use Powerpoint to provide students with a variety of resources and visual stimuli. – I structure my lesson plans with a view to providing short points of rest or temporary closure, in which students are able to ask questions about the content. I am also happy for students to interrupt the flow of the lesson if a burning question arises. Lesson Structure – Academic lessons tend to be 45–60 minutes in length, but I can adapt my teaching schedule to provide students with additional support if needed. Academic Credentials – I am studying for a PhD in Music at the University of Cambridge. – I hold an MPhil in Music from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Historical Musicology and Musical Aesthetics. – I have a first-class music degree (74.4%) from the University of Manchester, where I won three Hargreaves Prizes for Academic Achievement. I studied violin with Julia Hanson (formerly of the RNCM) and Sophie Rosa (soloist, former teacher at the RNCM and Cheethams School of Music). – I hold a distinction (92%) for an ATCL Diploma in Violin Performance. Professional Credentials 1. Teaching – I have over a year's experience working as a freelance academic tutor with many different organisations and online education platforms. – I have worked as an Assistant Music Teacher, which involved teaching Music A-Level students. – I have worked as a Violin Teacher for 8 years (since I was 17). I have taught a variety of students, from beginners starting their instrumental training, to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills. 2. Violinist, Recording Musician – I have an extensive portfolio of performing credits on documentary films. Recent highlights include the BAFTA-nominated score for the BBC docuseries on Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein 'House of Maxwell' (BBC2, 2022), and 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021). – I have extensive experience as an orchestral musician and chamber music performer. I led the University of Cambridge Experimental Music Ensemble (CUEME) when I was studying for my masters degree at the University of Cambridge. I also led the University of Manchester Chamber Orchestra in the second year of my undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester, and premiered a good deal of new music with The Eskandari String Quartet. – I have performed at the West Road Concert Hall (University of Cambridge), the Lee Tseng Hall (Wolfson College Cambridge), Buxton International Festival, Manchester International Festival, and the Bridgewater Hall.

She personalised the lessons to my specific needs, particularly focusing on oral practice which I found the most challenging (scoring 66% in my first year). She not only improved my level of Spanish, but also increased my confidence with the language. Thanks to all her help and expertise I got a 1st in Spanish, scoring 74% in the oral exam and 75% in the written paper! Brittany Testimonial 6 Ananda has tutored my son Myles for the past 2 years ahead of his IGCSE EDexcel exam in June 2023. Spanish was by far his weakest subject as school and he was struggling with motivation. He has a diagnosis of autism and ADHD. Ananda has consistently encouraged Myles, working alongside him at his pace and has given him a very thorough understanding of the language which he is now able to use with confidence. Her support has been invaluable, she has consistently been available for all the lessons and very flexible with any impromptu rescheduling. She has offered additional lessons in preparation ahead of specific exams such as the aural or listening papers. Today Myles has received a high Grade 8 in his exam, missing out on a 9 by only 1 mark. This seemed absolutely inconceivable at this point last year. Huge big thank you to Ananda - I cannot recommend her highly enough. Trusted teacher: I am an oil pastel lover who turns to this medium again and again — when I’m happy, tired, bored, overwhelmed, or simply longing to be surrounded by colour. Oil pastels have accompanied me through many moments of life, always offering comfort, freedom, and expression. Every time I paint with oil pastels, I find a sense of relaxation and inner peace — something increasingly precious in our fast-paced world. Oil pastels are, to me, a truly magical material. They can be firm or soft, bold or delicate, layered or blended. With just your hands and simple tools, they invite both control and spontaneity, making them perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. In an age where AI can generate endless images, I believe deeply in preserving the human act of creation — the joy of touching materials, playing with colour, and allowing emotions to flow through the hands. Painting is not just about making images; it is about reconnecting with ourselves. I believe everyone has the ability to create art. Everyone has their own sense of colour, rhythm, and expression. **** What you will learn in this class **** 🖼️ Essential oil pastel techniques (layering, blending, texture, and composition) 🎨 Colour combinations and how to develop your own colour language 🖌️ Creative approaches to painting freely and intuitively 🧘 How to use painting and colour as a tool for relaxation, emotional release, and self-care This class is suitable for beginners and intermediate learners. No prior art experience is required — only curiosity and openness! **** Materials **** In-person sessions: All materials are provided, including oil pastels, paper, masking tape, and palette knives. Just bring yourself. Online sessions: Materials are not provided, but I will guide you in advance on what to prepare and how to use simple and accessible supplies. In our sessions, we don’t just paint — we explore, connect, and gently listen to our inner world. I look forward to sharing this colourful, calming, and meaningful journey with you!

My first lesson with Daniel was just what I wanted and more. Daniel made me feel very comfortable and let me play some music I had been working on. Then Daniel looked at all aspects of my playing in a thorough manner and signposted plans for future lessons. I was really wanting my technique to be reviewed thoroughly and Daniel did exactly this, in a very supportive and encouraging manner. It was incredible to hear the change to my playing Daniel helped me make within the hour. Looking forward to the next lesson! Many thanks!
