About Me

I'm a PhD candidate in neuropsycholinguistics and consultant to private clients. My advisory clients include the House of Lords, the NHS, People Primetime International, the Manchester Metropolitan University, Falmouth University, the Emotional Intelligence Academy, the YMCA, the Y Club, the Castelfield Hotel, the National Citizenship Service, Equal Education, etc. My mentoring clients range pre-academic, academic, and professional contexts. My PhD research examines the composite language and communication phenomena of schizophrenia, as relative to figurative language processing, using experimental psycholinguistic methods; my master's dissertation focused on paralinguistics: blended displays (i.e. complex facial expressions) of emotion; and my bachelor's took the form of a stylistics combined honours (i.e. linguistics with creative writing). My vocational experience includes a substantive clinical education post within NHS psychiatric services—specifically, as an interpersonal communications tutor; in parallel, I've provided consultancy services since 2011.

MAKING ONESELF HEARD! (For Public Speaking & Presentations)
Explore Public Speaking through... Intonation and Melody When training for a presentation, decide which words and passages deserve extra attention and increase the tone to emphasize these points. If something sounds exaggerated or false, your audience can turn against you. Volume A speech is not ordinary conversation, and a presenter can’t convey passion and enthusiasm if the words are delivered softly. Clarity Don’t forget to articulate every word, to ensure clarity on your part and understanding on the part of the audience. Emphasis Even in the same sentence, emphasizing different words can change the focus of a message. Changing emphasis can alter meaning and/or implication. Pauses when pauses are placed in strategic spots in a speech, they can make the difference between a good and an excellent presentation. There are several purposes for which pauses can be used: to give listeners a chance to absorb something that’s just been said; to generate expectations about something that’s going to be said... Pacing & Tone If you often get negative feedback about the faster or slower delivery of your speeches, practice delivering a speech sometimes faster and sometimes slower, so you can arrive at a natural pace.

Sarah
English class by Zoom with certified Native US teacher & actress / English class with native teacher (United States) graduated / actress /
Hi, I am Sarah, Language teacher, professional actress and actor coach, native of the United States with more than 10 years of experience giving online courses for all levels and for all ages (child, teenager, student, adult, executive, professional actor etc). Please read the ad to the end before responding. I mainly give private lessons through Zoom / Facetime etc. or face-to-face lessons during the day if possible depending on my availability of slots and only in the Neuilly / Levallois-Peret areas, Paris 7/8/16/17 (travel costs). For the available slots, please understand that the list is not always up-to-date. I can help you prepare for a TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge etc exam, a job interview in English, learn English or improve it quickly and efficiently. English tutoring for children / teenagers. For executives etc. I can help you improve your presentations in English. For the children we use songs, drawings, videos and I always try to make the lesson interesting for them. For actors, speaking English fluently and with less emphasis is important for an international career and one works in English using different scenes, roles, accents. For singers, less accent in English is also very important when considering an international career. The courses are both practical and theoretical (grammar, pronunciation, writing texts, improvising and thinking in English, etc.) thanks to my background as an actress and also marketing / the business world (mastery of Marketing Communication & Languages and the experience of international companies). I use improvisation techniques, communication etc, and in my lessons, each lesson is personalized to the student and his needs. Taking lessons by Zoom / Facetime is a fantastic way to learn, flexible and very intensive, even more than a face to face lesson, and especially now during Covid-19, it is the best way to study. I have students all over the world thanks to Zoom courses. See you soon!

Communication Training from an experienced and reputable coach! VASTA Member teaching Articulation, Elocution, Public Speaking, Presentation
I privately coach personalised Speech courses in London or online via Zoom, Skype or Google Meetings. Speech training has helped millions of people throughout history, including myself, find command and confidence in speech. Following five years of the highest standard of training up to Masters level I have a rounded knowledge of many tried and tested training techniques, from Linklater technique to Taoist voice practice. If you want to learn to use your voice as a tool and stop seeing it as an obstacle, you’re in the right place! In any speech course of training I run, in our first session, we will discuss and identify your specific goals. Then, I will detail a strategy to achieve those goals. All the following features will be considered as I teach you, but we will prioritise different features at different times according to my recommendation. 1. Body: Posture, Movement, Muscle Tension, Vocal Tract Sensation, Health and Exercise. 2. Breath: Placing and Control. 3. Channel: Face, Lips, Jaw, Tongue, Soft Palate, Pharyngeal, Laryngeal. 4. Phonation: Qualities of Phonation, Phonatory Stamina, Onset. 5. Resonance: Features of Head, Oral and Chest Resonant Quality + Focus of Oral Placing. 6. Pitch: Centre, Range and Intonation Patterns/Variety. 7. Loudness: Overall Volume of Speech, Variety and Control, and use in Emphasis. 8. Articulation: Consonant and Vowel Clarity, Pace, Pause, Fluency, Rhythm. 9. Accent: If you would like we may discuss accent training as well. I am a highly reputed voice and speech coach who has worked internationally for large companies and with high profile private clients. You can not get better training in this field than I have received, completing training in Cambridge, New York and London including a masters in Voice Studies: Teaching and Coaching from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and a 3 year Conservatory training at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Throughout my career, professionals across numerous sectors have engaged in speech coaching from myself. From doctors to architects to actors, all have expressed total satisfaction with my coaching. To clarify, working with me will help you to fill rooms with your voice, capture people’s attention and show off your natural, previously untapped charisma. Above all, it is very important to me that each student discovers the full potential of their voice. When you think about it, we have to speak so often. Consequently, when talking makes you feel inadequate and self-conscious, every day of life can have nightmarish qualities. Instead, discover a way to use speech to always feel powerful, competent and satisfied.

English sessions aimed at enhancing student's mind
Students will learn creative ways in doing presentations. Writing is fun, therefore I believe students will enjoy writing both short and long stories/essays. And we all know that reading plays an important role in our daily lives, therefore, I will look to add a bit more excitement to student's reading.

Learn Business English with a TEFL-Certified Native English Teacher (Writing emails, Presentations, Meetings, etc)
I'm a Native-Speaking English teacher with over 3 years of experience, this class is specific for anyone who wants to improve their Business English. All the lessons are student-customised, which could include Business Writing (emails, business letters, memos, reports, proposals, etc) & Business Speaking (improving business vocabulary, presentations, meetings, phone handling). I'm experienced in preparing lesson plans, developing authentic teaching materials, and communicative classroom activities and also focused on teaching through visuals, games, real materials, TPR activities and using technology. In the language schools I worked at, I was specialised in teaching 1-2-1 classes to Upper-Intermediate and Advanced Students, many of my students were interested in Business English. I prepare my own lesson plans and teaching materials, which I consider as one of the most important stages of teaching. The effective lesson plans and appropriate teaching materials are the keys to engage the learners in the learning process actively and motive them. I give homework based on the student level and needs, they will be always challenging but never overwhelming. Looking forward to seeing you!

Dragos
Presentation Design, Speech Writing and Orathorical Practice
They say talking in public is the no1 fear in the world. How about preparing for it intensively, so when the moment comes, you will be confident, engaged and clear, even if your knees are still shaking? I have been coaching debate and public speaking to young people for 4 years. I have a lot of experience in speech writing and helping others prepare for talking in front of a crowd. What we can achieve together: - learn to compose a good speech -> with all the necessary elements in order to have a persuasive effect - design a killer presentation -> complicated ideas sometimes require visual aid for the public. Learn to let go of comic sans and how not to undermine a good talk with outdated graphic work - practice speaking -> 99%blood sweat and tears. I can help you present over, and over and over again until you are satisfied and confident that nothing can go wrong. Remember that all the great speakers of this world made history by practice, not by intuition or accident. My main goal for this course is that you would acquire autonomy to write your own speeches and manage presentations with less effort by being more and more persuasive.

Enjoy speaking in front of people - I´ll show you how!
Selfconfident, relaxed, inspiring? I used to be none of those things. Today, I´m a stage addict, doing poetry and public speaking in front of many people and I really enjoy it. Do you want to know how to speak and perform authentically? What it takes to make people hang on every word you say - no matter if it´s a presentation at school, university, at work, at an event, in a meeting or a job interview? How to remember your content, raise awareness, raise curiosity and deal with stage fright? Passionate and successful speaking are going to change your life ...

Pitch and Public Presentations: how to prepare yourself
Being able to express your ideas and projects in public is a fundamental ability for your professional career. In the audiovisual field where I have been working for fifteen years, giving a good convincing pitch was the only way to find investors for my documentary projects. Later, working as a teacher at a Faculty of Media and Communication, I had the opportunity to help students prepare their presentations, and very especially their Final Thesis Presentations. All and all, I have my personal toolbox for preparing anyone (welcome shyness!) to feel confident and at ease in order to communicate with the verbal language, the body language, and the visual language.
