I believe lessons should be first and foremost enjoyable, but also serve as a means to break new ground and inspire as much practice as possible at home! So we'll start by establishing an objective of the student's choice that reflects their ambitions, and then work through the appropriate techniques, exercises, and repertoire that allows us to get there in as enjoyable a way as possible! Lessons will be supplemented with listening/aural exercises, music theory training, and performance/contextual discussions (if necessary!).

I am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I teach English Language, English Literature, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), Maths, and Creative Writing. I have taught students both in person and remotely, planning lessons using virtual presentations, activities and resources both in the UK and abroad. I believe the most successful results come from fostering a friendship with my students, and providing constant encouragement and support in their areas of interest. I pride myself on being an attentive listener and carefully adapt to the specific needs of my students, which is particularly helpful for my SEN and ESOL pupils. I have previously volunteered as a mentor with charities such as Al Muntaha Tutoring and Debate Mate, providing mentorship, relevant advice, and support to young people. At the beginning of every lesson I also do short icebreaker activities and challenges with my students, using a points reward system to keep them engaged. Previous students have gone on to become the top of their class and receive recognition at school for both English and Maths. Lessons start at 1 hour in length, with longer lessons available if required. Lessons are structured according to the needs of the student; this can be working alongside their class syllabus to support them with progress at school, tackling an area or subject they are specifically struggling with, or helping them prepare for national exams such as GCSEs. I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student. I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London. Singing is an important skill whether you are a beginner looking to build confidence or a seasoned performer looking to retain good technique. We will build on techniques from the 'life after estill' principles. This will be subtly incorporated into the lesson and you will find that breathing and projection will improve quite quickly.
